How to Submit a
Spyware or Adware Sample to F-Secure
If you have any questions
or problems regarding F-Secure products and you would need our
assistance please contact our Technical Support.
If you have a virus-related problem then you should contact our Anti-Virus Research team.
If you have a sample that is not
detected or it causes a false alarm
with the F-Secure Anti-Spyware application, you can send it to us.
Please use this form to submit a sample to F-Secure
Instructions
- Identify the
problematic file or folder
- If you have
F-Secure Anti-Spyware software, please make sure it has the latest
updates installed.
- Scan
the suspected file or folder with F-Secure Anti-Spyware as the
suspected threat may already be detected with the updated databases.
- If the suspected
file is detected, please search our website for
information on that specific file.
- You may also want
to check the latest spyware, virus, and hoax descriptions.
- Compress the
problematic file into a ZIP-archive. Please use only English characters
(a-z, 0-9) in the file name.
- It is advisable to
use a password-protected ZIP-archive to prevent e-mail scanners from
removing the attachment.
- If the resulting
ZIP-archive is larger than 5 megabytes do not attach it to the email,
but contact us for further
instructions.
- Create an e-mail on
the following way:
- write a
descriptive subject line for the message
- attach the
ZIP-archive containing the problematic file (if smaller than 5
megabytes)
- include the scan
report from F-Secure Anti-Spyware
- mention the
version of the F-Secure product what you are using
- mention the
version of your operating system
- write a detailed
description of the problem
