In Ubuntu, the Gnome login does not work after uninstallation because the gnome-session has been corrupted.

To fix this, reinstall the gnome-session package by using the following command:

sudo apt-get install gnome-session --reinstall

This will restore the default.session file with the Ubuntu system default.

This problem has been fixed in release 5.30.
