Running F-Secure Health Check
Q2. A security warning is displayed when I open the F-Secure Health Check page. It asks me if I want to install and run Health Check. Why is this happening?
The F-Secure Health Check architecture is based on ActiveX (for more information, see What is ActiveX). Depending on the security settings, Internet Explorer will, for security reasons, probably ask the user for confirmation before any ActiveX control can be downloaded, installed and run. This is to prevent unwanted malicious software from being installed on your computer. To ensure that F-Secure Health Check is safe to install, check that
- it has been signed by F-Secure Corporation
- a trusted CA, such as Thawte Code Signing CA, has verified the authenticity of the signature.
