Installation

Q1. How do I install F-Secure Home Server Security 2009?

You need the product installation package and the access to the Windows Home Server Console to install the product. Uninstall any potentially conflicting products, such as other antivirus or security software, before you start the installation.

Use the Windows Home Server Console to install the product. Other installation methods are not supported.

  1. Copy the MSI installation package to the Software\Add-ins shared folder on your Windows Home Server.
  2. Start the Windows Home Server Console.
  3. Click Settings and go to the Add-ins page.
  4. You see F-Secure Home Server Security in the list of Avalable Add-ins.
  5. Click Install in the F-Secure Home Server Security entry. The setup wizard launches.
  6. Select the installation language and click Next.
  7. Read the license agreement. If you agree with the license agreement, click Accept.
  8. Enter your subscription key. If you want to evaluate the product, leave the subscription key field empty. Click Next to continue. The installation process starts automatically.
  9. After the installation is complete, click Finish to exit the setup wizard. Your Windows Home Server Console closes automatically after the installation is over.

Launch the Windows Home Server Console and find the new F-Secure tab. Click the tab to check your current protection status.
