Internet Shield firewall

Q6. What should I do if the Application Control blocks a connection to the Internet?

If your computer is connected to the Internet, but applications cannot make a connection, you should check the Application Control settings.

Follow these instructions:

1. Open the Internet Shield tab.

2. Click 'Advanced…'.

3. Click 'Application Control'.

The Connections tab contains a list of applications installed on your computer and information about what action will be taken when an application tries to connect to the Internet. If the setting for an application has been set to Deny, all connection attempts by that application will be blocked. If you want to allow the connections, do the following:

4. Select the program for which you want to change the connection settings.

5. Select 'Details'.

You can change the settings in the column 'Client (Outbound)'. If you select 'Prompt', you must choose what action should be taken each time the application tries to make a connection.

6. Select 'Allow'.

7. Click 'OK' to confirm your selection.

8. Click 'OK to close the window.
