Q 1.
I think my phone is infected with a virus. What should I do?
If you suspect a virus infection, check the following:
- Find out where the infection came from; did you receive it via Bluetooth, MMS, or was it downloaded from the Internet?
- Check the process list, and terminate all unknown processes by selecting the process and pressing the "Shift-Ctrl-Chr-K" key combination or with a 3rd party application manager.
- Check if the Bluetooth icon is activated? Are other phones in close range getting Bluetooth connection attempts?
- Have people in your phonebook been receiving MMS messages with attached '.sis-files' from you?
- Does the phone menu work? Does it show something unusual? Does the Application Manager work?
- Do the symptoms resemble the most common mobile viruses (Cabir, Commwarrior, Skulls)? For more info on these, please see:
To make a full system virus scan:
